Roszetta Benjamin was arrested after a series of crashes and an alleged attempted carjacking in Deerfield Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Benjamin was driving a stolen vehicle when it collided with three other vehicles near Northeast 54th Street and South Federal Highway. They allege she left that scene and was involved in another crash near North Federal Highway and Hillsboro Boulevard.
After the stolen vehicle became disabled, a driver stopped to help. Investigators allege Benjamin tried to take that person’s vehicle and drove it into a gas station on Hillsboro Boulevard.
The October 24 reporting listed charges including carjacking, grand theft auto and hit-and-run involving injuries. It also reported a probable-cause finding and a $104,000 bond. Those details describe the initial case reporting and do not establish Benjamin’s current custody status or the outcome of the charges.
Benjamin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
