Source report: October 23, 2026 · Adapted October 26, 2026

A motorcyclist was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after an October 23 crash in Fort Lauderdale, according to police.

The collision occurred at about 10:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 between Oakland Park Boulevard and Northeast 26th Street, in the Coral Ridge area. Images from the scene showed a damaged motorcycle and a white Hyundai Kona.

Police closed that stretch of the southbound roadway while emergency crews responded. Everyone involved remained at the scene, the department said.

The initial account did not establish the cause of the crash, whether anyone would receive a citation, or the rider’s later condition. The closure described in that report was part of the response on October 23 and should not be read as a current traffic advisory.
