A two-vehicle collision in Fort Lauderdale sent one car off the roadway and into a tree and the side of a nearby home. Scene descriptions and video show tire marks on the sidewalk and a hole in the side of the residence after the impact.
Fort Lauderdale Police reported the vehicles struck each other in the roadway and one was propelled off the street. That vehicle first hit a tree adjacent to the dwelling and then contacted the home, producing minor structural damage. Both cars suffered heavy front-end damage; one also had damage along the passenger side.
A woman involved in the crash was transported to a hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening. The property owner said this is the second time the house has required repairs following a vehicle collision.
Neighbors voiced continuing concerns about speeding on the block of Northwest Third Avenue. Fort Lauderdale Police have not released a cause for the collision; as of the agency’s statements in the report, no charges, citations or arrest information were provided.
All individuals accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
